Prom (PROM)
Prom is a modular ZkEVM Layer 2 solution established in 2018. It provides interoperability across various chains, including both EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) and non-EVM-compatible networks, by submitting proof of transactions to additional chains on top of the chosen settlement chain.
Overview
Prom was developed by Prometeus Labs as a Layer 2 scaling solution built on existing Layer 1 blockchains. It utilizes zk-SNARKs (zero-knowledge succinct non-interactive arguments of knowledge), a cryptographic method that allows computations to be verified without revealing the underlying data. This zkEVM (Zero-Knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine) architecture offers Prom the security of the underlying Layer 1 chain while enhancing transaction speed and reducing costs.

Powered by Polygon, Prom zkEVM employs zkSNARKs to minimize transaction costs, providing users with an economical blockchain solution. It uses Polygon Zero for swift transactions and scalable decentralized application (dApp) development, thanks to recursive STARK technology. Prom seamlessly integrates with existing Ethereum infrastructure, ensuring secure and immutable transactions by combining Ethereum's security with the efficiency of ZK proofs.
PROM token
The native token, $PROM, powers the Prom zkEVM ecosystem. It facilitates transactions, grants users governance rights, and incentivizes community contributions. The $PROM token empowers users by granting decision-making power over the network's future, fueling transactions and contract interactions, and providing access to a variety of network services.
