Cudos (CUDOS)
Cudos is a blockchain network designed to integrate cloud and blockchain technologies, enhancing global computing power for users and developers. It operates as a layer-1 blockchain using a delegated proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus mechanism. The project aims to make computing more sustainable and cost-effective by utilizing spare computational resources.
Overview
Cudos functions as a layer-1 blockchain with a delegated proof-of-stake consensus mechanism, forming the core of the Cudos network. This setup ensures secure and decentralized access to high-performance computing in a permissionless way. By separating consensus from execution, the network offers developers enhanced application performance, a user-friendly toolkit, and adaptable asset management. Cudos provides robust cryptographic security, transparent public blockchain infrastructure, seamless cross-chain compatibility, and carbon-neutral transactions. The network effectively addresses scalability challenges, supporting rapid consensus and Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocols. With a focus on sustainability, Cudos aligns with the United Nations' sustainability goals to create a more efficient computing ecosystem.

Products
Smart contracts
Users can learn to write and deploy smart contracts on the Cudos blockchain, implementing the business and value logic of their applications.
Cloud infrastructure
Through Cudos Intercloud (CIC), users can set up cloud infrastructure to power their applications with computing resources.
Growth
Cudos was launched in 2017, marking the project's foundation and the start of team building. By the first quarter of 2019, the beta platform was introduced, featuring a 100% monetization model to encourage early validators. In late 2019, Cudos partnered with AMD, a leader in technology, to develop secure distributed computing solutions. The Mining Farm Management platform was launched in early 2020, providing scalable compute solutions and enhancing network security. Cudos surpassed 100,000 users, highlighting its growing influence. In mid-2020, the project attracted major compute suppliers, establishing a global capacity and deploying numerous servers. Later that year, Cudos launched its first major global partner with a white-label version of the software. In 2021, Cudos enabled computing on validation nodes and introduced its compute validation and testnet. By mid-2021, layer-2 compute oracle services were offered to Ethereum and Algorand. In 2022, the Cudos network's layer-1 mainnet was launched, establishing its identity as a layer-1 blockchain and L2 community-governed compute network.
CUDOS token
The CUDOS token serves as a digital asset within the Cudos ecosystem, acting as an internal currency for transactions and incentives. Token holders can stake their tokens to strengthen network security, validate transactions, and receive rewards, contributing to the platform's self-sustaining economic model.
Use cases
- Governance: CUDOS token holders can participate in the network’s governance, voting on proposals and upgrades.
- Staking: Holders can stake their tokens to validate the network and earn rewards.
- Rewards: Validators and ambassadors in the Cudos network earn CUDOS tokens as rewards.
- Liquidity and trading: CUDOS tokens are available for trading on various cryptocurrency exchanges like KuCoin, AscendEX, and HTX.
