HairDAO was launched in November 2021 as part of the initial cohort of bio-focused decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) supported by bio.xyz. This cohort includes other notable BioDAOs such as VitaDAO, AthenaDAO, ValleyDAO, and PsyDAO. HairDAO made significant strides shortly after its inception by minting its first IP-NFT (Intellectual Property Non-Fungible Token) in the same month. This NFT was associated with the project's inaugural study, which explores the effects of T3 and T4 thyroid hormones on human scalp skin organ cultures. The minting of this IP-NFT represents a novel approach to managing and disseminating research findings within the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem.
How HairDAO works
