Gameplay

In Illuvium, players take on the role of a survivor from an interstellar fleet responding to a distress signal, becoming stranded on a planet in ruins. The game involves exploring a world with extreme weather and vast oceans, encountering creatures called Illuvials. Players capture these Illuvials using crystal Shards, unlocking Obelisks that serve as gateways to new areas. The narrative involves uncovering Illuvium's secrets and rebuilding the stranded spacecraft, the Leviathan.

Illuvium: Overworld

Illuvium: Overworld is a third-person adventure game focused on Illuvial collection. Players explore various regions, search for resources, and engage in encounters to acquire Illuvials.

Illuvium: Zero

Illuvium: Zero functions as an industrial building game within the Illuvium ecosystem, where players construct virtual industrial complexes to generate fuel and blueprints, interacting with other games in the ecosystem.

Illuvium: Arena

Illuvium: Arena is a competitive auto battler where players construct teams to counter opponents' strengths. Strategic unit positioning is key to success in battles.

Illuvium: Beyond

Illuvium: Beyond is a collectible card game where players personalize Illuvial avatars, amass collections, and compete on leaderboards. It offers numerous combinations for unique player collections, and Illuvitars can be used as profile pictures in other titles.

Game economy

The Illuvium game economy balances supply and demand using fuel as the primary currency. Landowners generate fuel to upgrade plots or sell it through the Fuel Pool. Supply games like Illuvium Zero and Illuvium Overworld generate and craft resources, while demand games like Illuvium Arena and Illuvium Beyond rely on fuel and items, driving marketplace demand. The economy adjusts dynamically to maintain resource value, with a focus on introducing more demand games.

Illuvials NFT

Illuvials NFTs are key game assets in Illuvium. These deity-like creatures evolve over time and have affinities for certain elements. Players are rewarded for assembling Illuvials that complement their teams. Illuvials vary in rarity and power, and players can collect them in Shards on the blockchain. If time is limited, players can purchase Illuvials from others. Attributes like Affinity and Class determine Illuvials' strengths.

Affinity

Five basic affinities—Water, Earth, Fire, Nature, and Air—affect damage dealt and received. For instance, a Fire Illuvial deals more damage to a Nature Illuvial but takes extra damage from a Water Illuvial.

Class

Illuvium features five basic classes: Fighter, Guardian, Rogue, Psion, and Empath, which correspond to traditional RPG roles.

Fusion

Instead of evolving, Illuvials fuse to form more powerful entities. Players need three identical Illuvials at maximum level to fuse them. Bonding with an Illuvial offers additional combat bonuses.

In-game purchases

ETH is used for all in-game purchases, with fees directed to the Illuvium Vault. Purchasable items include:

As Illuvium's primary trading hub, IlluviDEX offers streamlined trading with advanced search features for precise item location.

Echoes

The platform also stores data on in-game achievements, such as Illuvials' takedowns and damage dealt, allowing players to track progress.

Repository

The IlluviDEX provides detailed insights into Illuvial biology and regional characteristics, serving as a resource for exploring the game's lore.

Tokenomics

The $ILV token in Illuvium serves dual purposes: governance and trading. Holders can participate in decentralized governance and trade the token, adding value and utility.
