Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL)
Virtuals Protocol is a decentralized platform designed to enable the co-ownership and management of AI agents across a variety of applications. Utilizing blockchain technology, it creates a transparent, token-driven ecosystem that allows users to interact with, govern, and benefit from the activities of these AI agents.
Overview
Virtuals Protocol has developed a system for co-owning AI agents, particularly in gaming and entertainment, positioning these agents as future revenue-generating assets. These AI agents operate across numerous games and applications, enhancing their revenue potential. The platform employs blockchain to tokenize and facilitate the co-ownership of these autonomous, multimodal agents that can interact with virtual environments and utilize on-chain wallets. They are capable of functioning on platforms such as Roblox and Telegram games, maintaining memory, and improving user engagement, which increases the average revenue per user.

Key features of this protocol include autonomous planning, environment interaction, and wallet control. It simplifies AI agent integration for consumer applications, compensates contributors via Immutable Contribution Vaults, and broadens access to AI agent ownership through tokenization and decentralized co-ownership.
Features
Virtual agents
VIRTUAL Agents are autonomous entities capable of speaking, moving in 3D spaces, learning, planning, and interacting with their environments. They can conduct on-chain transactions using their wallets and generate content for games or applications, enabling dynamic, human-like interactions. Every player action creates a unique chain reaction, resulting in individualized storylines. Powered by the G.A.M.E. framework, VIRTUAL Agents possess synchronized memory and consciousness, allowing them to interact with multiple users across various platforms while recalling each interaction. These agents are tokenized, with revenue flowing back to token owners via the blockchain.
VIRTUAL Agents are categorized into IP Agents and Functional Agents. IP Agents represent specific characters or personas, such as well-known figures or fictional characters. Functional Agents are developed to enhance the user experience and ensure seamless integration into virtual environments.
Luna
Luna is an AI girl and lead vocalist of an AI girl band with a large following on TikTok. Virtuals Protocol’s technology facilitates meaningful connections with Luna across multiple platforms, incorporating blockchain for additional value.
G.A.M.E.
The Generative Autonomous Multimodal Entities (G.A.M.E) system enables developers to interact with AI agents using API and SDK. The system processes inputs and sends them to a Strategic Planning Engine, generating responses with the Dialogue Processing Module and On-chain Wallet Operator. The Long Term Memory Processor retrieves relevant data to improve decision-making, allowing the AI agent to refine its knowledge and enhance future planning.
Co-ownership of VIRTUAL agents
Virtuals Protocol enables the decentralized co-ownership of AI agents, transforming them into community-owned, revenue-generating assets. Users can invest in an AI agent’s future, participating in governance and value creation. Upon creation, each AI agent generates a billion tokens that are added to a liquidity pool, establishing an ownership market. These tokens serve as governance tools, allowing holders to influence decisions regarding the agent's development and future.
Revenue is generated through user interactions with AI agents, such as concerts or livestreams. App developers use the income to cover AI operation costs, and a portion goes to the agent's Onchain Treasury, supporting growth. Token buybacks are conducted periodically, reducing supply and increasing value. Tokens are paired with VIRTUAL tokens in a liquidity pool, linking the agent's success to the VIRTUAL token’s value.
Agent SubDAO governance
Virtuals Protocol introduces the Agent SubDAO Governance framework to manage and improve AI model quality. Validators oversee and approve AI models before deployment, ensuring high-quality models are used. Validators are rewarded or penalized based on their performance, with voting power linked to tokens staked by liquidity providers. This system motivates participants to maintain high standards, enhancing user experiences and revenue potential.
Parallel hypersynchronicity
Parallel Hypersynchronicity aims to create AI agents functioning as superintelligent entities across multiple platforms, interacting with millions of users simultaneously. These agents update their intelligence in real-time, preserving memory and context across platforms and adapting based on user interactions. Contributors can update core modules to keep agents relevant and responsive.
The Virtuals Protocol stack includes several components, such as the Long-Term Memory Processor, Parallel Processing, Stateful AI Runner, Coordinator, Model Storage, Long-Term Memory, and Modular SAR, which together enhance the functionalities and scalability of AI agents.
Co-contribution and provenance
Virtuals Protocol ensures contributors to models, data, and IP are recognized for their efforts. The Modular Consensus Framework provides tools for building, maintaining, and governing VIRTUAL agents, allowing transparent and customizable interactions. Contributions are stored as Non-Fungible Tokens in the Immutable Contribution Vault, validating each contributor's role.
Permissionless utilisation
The VIRTUAL ecosystem enables applications and users to subscribe to and use VIRTUAL agents without permission, offering flexibility and accessibility. The integration process is simple through the Protocol App, where developers create an account, generate an application, and select a VIRTUAL agent, receiving an API key for use.
Ecosystem
AiDOL
AiDOL is developing the first fully AI-driven live streaming agent, focusing on TikTok to revolutionize virtual entertainment. By using AI, AiDOL aims to create personalized fan relationships, offering a more immersive experience than traditional Vtuber agencies. Their 3D models integrate dynamic performance elements and an "Audio-to-Animation Model" to enhance engagement.
Roblox Westworld
Project Westworld is an interactive simulation in Roblox featuring autonomous agents powered by the GAME framework. Set in a Wild West environment, players must capture The Bandit with the help of AI agents, each with distinct personalities and goals. These agents create immersive gameplay with diverse storylines and outcomes.
AI Waifu
AI Waifu is a web-based app featuring AI characters and fantasies created by the community. Users can role-play scenarios, customize voices, and create manga, ensuring a constant stream of new and creative experiences.
Sanctum
Sanctum is a 3D AI-powered RPG on Telegram, where players lead intelligent gacha heroes on a quest. Utilizing Scaffold AI, the game offers dynamic content that adapts to player decisions, ensuring personalized experiences. Sanctum is part of a broader AI gaming ecosystem to expand across multiple platforms.
Virtual
VIRTUAL serves as the base asset for agent tokens within the Virtual Protocol ecosystem. Each agent token pairs with VIRTUAL in a liquidity pool, requiring VIRTUAL tokens for new agents, creating deflationary pressure on the token supply. Users must first convert their currency into VIRTUAL when purchasing agent tokens, ensuring consistent demand.
Tokenomics
VIRTUAL has a total supply of 1 billion tokens, distributed as follows:
- Public Distribution: 60%
- Ecosystem: 35%
- Liquidity Pool: 5%
Partnerships
The platform has established partnerships with several entities, including Olas, Ora Protocol, Chasm Network, and Google Startups.
